May I begin by wishing you all a happy New Year and thanking you for your understanding during the extreme weather at the start of term.
We welcome to the staff Miss Gemma Brown who joins the PE department and Mrs Adeline Charlton who joins the MFL department. I’m sure they will both add further success to their departments.
Recently, there was cause for celebration when we received the Y11 early entry GCSE English results. An astonishing 63% gained A*-C grades, the vast majority of students achieving, and in many cases, exceeding their targets. The whole year group deserve congratulations, as do their dedicated teachers and of course you, the parents/carers who continue to provide so much support and encouragement. Students are now in a very strong position to build on these tremendous successes and go on to demonstrate that no matter where your starting point is, with hard work and a positive attitude, everyone can rise to the challenge and surpass expectations.
The Y11 cohort has provided a perfect example to the rest of the school of just what can be achieved.
Well done to you all!
Best Wishes Paul McKenna
